Was talking with some friends the other night about how, as we become more accustomed to the presence of drones in our everyday lives, that will surely yield some benefits as well. Imagine, for example, a small fleet of them scattered throughout a city like Madison—some of them in the sky, some of them roosting in trees, waiting*—and when you want something delivered, you just place your order and WHOOOOOSH! Here comes a drone with your groceries. I suppose if they’re fast enough, they don’t even have to be based locally. “Drone” will be an eBay shipping option.
*Pretty sure drones can neither roost nor just generally land and take off like birds. YET.
