Just a couple quick notes:
More than a year ago, I blogged about how our credit union’s ATMs were sooooo slooooow—but how great it was that when I complained about it on their website, a higher-up called the next day to acknowledge the problem. It really was wonderful!
Even more wonderful: The last couple of times I’ve used a UWCU ATM, it has been super-fast. Or at least as fast as an ATM ought to be. They finally got the software fixed! At least at the one branch I’ve been to lately! Thanks, credit union!
(I know slow ATMs sound like the silliest thing to complain about, but you have to understand how absurdly slow these things were. Like: You were waiting a full ten seconds for the thank-you message to disappear so that your receipt would print. And then, if you had to do two transactions, another full ten seconds for the subsequent good-bye message to disappear.)
And speaking of waiting, I also blogged about Energizer and their annoyingly misleading iTunes gift-card promotion a couple weeks ago. Well, they did email me about the post and asked if they could speed along the delivery of my coupon code. I said no, they couldn’t, because I didn’t complain because I wanted special treatment—I just wanted them not to get my hopes up with their promotions. They said they’d take my complaint into consideration for future such offers.
So! I guess I’m about ready to take on Wall Street. Like a one-man Ralph Nader.
